I am a Fine Art Graduate of 2007. My art portfolio currently consists of paintings, drawings, digital art and photographic work. I have always been passionate about the creative arts and love nothing more than to spend every minute of my time creating artworks and every other minute learning new ways of creating it.
The best artwork are the ones that can make you smile, art should have a sense of humour. A lot of my work is figurative. I try to capture the subject on a physical level as well as to portray their personality. The most important thing about portraiture is to get the eyes right, everything else will then follow.
I start with an idea and then use photography to better compose the image I already have in my head, so that I have something solid to work from. On some occasions it has been my photography that has sparked the idea for a painting, drawing or digital art piece. Sometimes a photograph is taken and it is a piece of artwork in its own right so I leave it as a photograph.
I have done numerous private commissions (mainly portraiture), some community projects and design work.
